Grammy winning songstress Nelly Furtado will perform later this month on ABC's One Life to Live. Furtado's performance continues a string of high profile appearances by some of music's biggest stars on daytime television.

Furtado, a 28-year-old British Columbia native, rose to fame in 2000 with the release of her eclectic first album Whoa, Nelly! The album featured the breakout hit "I'm Like a Bird," which earned a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Furtado's follow-up album, Folklore, released in 2003, was less of a commercial success. In 2006, Furtado released "Loose," which has been her biggest seller to date. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard's Top 200 albums chart and had sold more than 1 million copies to date. The album's lead single, "Promiscuous," topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks. "Promiscuous" was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

"We are proud to have hosted a tremendously talented group of musicians on our show and always look for opportunities to collaborate with artists from the music industry."

Indeed One Life to Live has featured a wide array of talent in recent years. Last year, Mary J. Blige sang two of her hits from her Grammy-winning album "The Breakthrough." In previous years, Tito Puente Jr., Simply Red and Lifehouse have also performed on the show.

Part of Furtado's appeal is her experimentation with genres of music as well as different instruments, sounds and vocal styles. That unique sound will be evident in the songs Furtado performs during her One Life to Live engagement: "Promiscuous" and her current single, also a #1 hit, "Say It Right."

Furtado's scenes - which were taped way back on December 12th - will air February 23rd.
